History of Pioneer Inn - Elora, Ontario

An original pioneer home built in 1826. One of 3 original inns still standing from the 1800's. Many rooms in the house hold a ghostly presence. The house features many victorian rooms with newly built added on office. The main suite is haunted by Nanna an elderly lady who died in the room with a respirator which you can still hear sounds of to this day. Doors open and close in the room by themselves, there is a ghostly cold presence in the room at times. The inn is located just north of Guelph in Elora only 15 minutes from Elora Gorge and the Elora Mill Hotel. Food and restaurants are located close by in Elora. The building has a history of bad things going wrong, deaths, mysterious murders and accidents where someone died on the stairs which leads up to the second floor. The childrens rooms are also haunted by a black entity presence. The family has witnessed and documented house lots of ghost activity with smells, talking, whispers, shadows and images walk throughout the original old Victorian Home. There is also the original cemetery plot which was located by the house with many of the descendants buried here. The cemetery still holds lots of ghost energy.

Tours and over night stays are no longer offered at this time since the owners have decided to keep their home private and no longer operate as a bed and breakfast.

In March 2006, Patrick Cross and Michelle Desrochers, well known paranormal researchers were invited to film more of their pilot tv show, "Canada's Most Haunted" with the owners Sue and Jim. They got some amazing photo results including amazing ghost photos, evps, sounds and ghost orbs appearing around the house at 11:30pm.
